Amazon.com Product Description
Strengthen your back, chest, biceps, shoulders, abs, and more in the comfort of your living room or dorm with the Iron Gym Extreme Edition workout bar. An upgraded version of the original Iron Gym, the Extreme Edition boasts two additional grip positions for a total of five: the default narrow, neutral, and wide positions of the first Iron Gym, plus alternate wide and side grips. When installed in the doorway, the device lets you perform pull-ups and chin-ups, with several options for working the inner and outer back. Once you're done with your back workout, you can quickly move the Iron Gym to the floor, where you can perform pushups while facing down, tricep dips while facing the other way, or sit-ups using the Iron Gym for foot stability.

The Iron Gym is the ultimate workout tool for people who want to shape their upper bodies and tone their midsections. And unlike many other workout bars, the Extreme Edition installs conveniently in most doorway frames without damaging your walls or doors with a permanent installation. Just take it off the door when you're finished--no harm done. Sporting a durable steel frame, the Iron Gym Extreme Edition holds up to 300 pounds and is designed to fit residential doorways between 24 to 32 inches, with trim or molding up to 3.5 inches wide.

5 out of 5 stars key to upper body strength and tone   March 11, 2010
Jacob Wise (shawnee, KS)
ive used this for about 4 and a half months. at that time i could do 13 pullups on it. and now i can do betwwe 21 and 23, heres how. do 3 sets with it, with 100% effort every set. i used the parallel grip for the first 2 sets, and on the last set i gripped it with my palms facing forward. im 150lbs and it works fine for me and ive had heavier friends who use it and in my opinion the weight limit mostly depends on the door frame.

5 out of 5 stars Great piece of excercice equipment for the price   March 8, 2010
A. Sanchez (Portland, OR)
I have to say that I am skeptic when it comes to exercise equipment. This product has surpassed my expectations. I bought it on sale for $30 at Big 5 Sporting Goods as it was cheaper than Amazon. Putting it together took less than 6 minutes. I used a monkey wrench instead of the wrench that came in the box. It fitted perfectly on my walk in closet door. I put in some extra packing foam on the edges of the bar to prevent any door markings. I like the variety of exercises that can be done on this pull up bar. I'm 203 pounds and the bar feels sturdy enough for me. My goal is to gain more strength and loose weight. My goal is to be at 180 pounds. Of course I'm also doing 30 minutes of cardio each day on my elliptical machine. I'm also following the recommended diet that came in the Iron Gym instructions. Good luck to everybody that is looking to get in shape and loose weight! :)

4 out of 5 stars Exactly what you need for P90X. Stop looking and order it.   March 8, 2010
Danarone (Cincinnati, OH)
Has all the grip positions you need. Fits over the doorframe and is easily removed after you're done working out. Very sturdy and easy to assemble. If you are doing P90X, this is the bar you need.

Bear in mind that this is not an alternative to a real chin-up bar. It will wiggle a bit if you swing your body so you must be careful. If you're doing switch grip pullups you can't swing and jerk too much. But that is true with any of these doorframe chin-up bars.

5 out of 5 stars eazy to install   March 5, 2010
LA4LIFE (CA, USA)
i bought this product from my local wal mart.it was really easy to assemble.took me about 15 minutes....just make sure you have a big enough gap on top of your door way so the bar can lock in place.i had to use my bedroom door instead of my hallway door...i weigh 165 and it held me so dont be scared....its worth the 40$....i bought it for the wide grip and still has 4 other grips to...i love it.i do pullups in between modern warfare 2 matches....LA4LIFE on the psn...for ps3

This product is not cheap by any means. For it to hold a 200 and 250lb guy is pretty impressive! and it fits in ALL my door ways! As far as assembly for this product , you don't need any tools at all! It comes with everything you need to start doing pull ups right away!
